Tarascon Remix sets images in dialogue. Then and now. Here and elsewhere. One eye and another.
You could be part of Galerie Bokeh's very first exhibition.
Each week, Grain de Bokeh reveals one archive photograph from Tarascon. Pick one, and let your image talk back: a light, a grain, a mood, a gaze… or anything that catches your eye. The archive is your inspiration, never your material.
New work or a photograph from your own portfolio : every photographic practice is welcome.
Working with film, darkroom prints, cyanotypes or instant photography? Simply share a scan or a photo of your work in your Note. If your image is selected, we'll find the best way to bring it to the wall together.
How to take part
Subscribe to Grain de Bokeh on Substack. It's free.
Each week, discover a new archive photograph.
Talk back with your response photo in a Substack Note.
Name the archive, tag @graindebokeh and add #TarasconRemix.
One response per archive, up to six in all. All six archives stay open until the call closes.
What happens next
Galerie Bokeh makes the selection, taking into account suggestions from the Grain de Bokeh community. Selection is based solely on the responses posted as Substack Notes. Only shortlisted photographers will then be asked for a high-resolution file.
If your image is selected
It will be printed on fine art paper, framed and exhibited in Tarascon, Provence, at the gallery's expense. Credited on its wall label, featured in the exhibition catalogue, and offered for sale during the show. You'll be invited to the opening night, and your own books and zines are welcome in the gallery bookshop.
